Udaykumar S Suryawanshi hails from Mumbai. He has obtained his Licentiate Diploma in Electrical Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai, and Bachelor of  Electrical Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, in 2007 and 2010 respectively. 

He then joined Siemens India Ltd, where he worked until 2012. Currently, he is working with the  Department of Electrical Engineering, K J Somaiya Polytechnic, Vidyavihar, Mumbai from 2013. He worked as a Co-coordinator for Part-Time Diploma in Electrical Engineering. His research interests are in the fields of Electric Vehicle, Virtual Power Plant, Game theory.

He has completed his M-Tech with a specialization in Power System from VJTI, Mumbai in 2019.

He is associated with the Control and Decisions Research Centre (CDRC) at VJTI, Mumbai, and has published various Journal and Conference papers.

He has coordinated for installation of Grid Tie 10KW Solar Power Plant in K J Somaiya Polytechnic. He has effectively worked for the minimization of  Power Bills for both Institute and KJSP Hostel. He has worked as a reviewer for the 2019 9th International Conference on Power and Energy System.

A student travel grant of AUD 300 was awarded to him for presenting a research paper at  9th IEEE Edition of  International Conference on Power and Energy System. Perth, Australia.

He is a Life Member of ISTE and Rotaract Club of WCE, Sangli. He always remains active, enthusiastic, and willing to learn new things which motivate him to upgrade his knowledge through the various program.

He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at EMC² Lab (https://emcc.in/), VJTI, Mumbai -19 under the Supervision of Dr. Sushama R Wagh.

He is also a Student Member of IEEE.
