Eligibility Criteria

K J Somiya Polytechnic strictly follows DTE norms.

  • Maharashtra State Candidates are eligible for admission to First year of diploma courses in Engineering / Technology through CAP
  • OMS (Other than Maharashtra state) candidates are eligible for Institute Level admissions after exhausting the list of Maharashtra state candidates.
  • Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the SSC (Std.X) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination.
  • Minimum 35% marks in Best of 5 aggregate for candidates of all categories.

Note:

  • The term 'aggregate marks' used here shall mean the grand total marks obtained by the candidate, taken together for best 5 subjects.
  • Best of 5 aggregate marks in case of candidates who have passed qualifying exam on or before 2009 shall be decided by selecting any 5 subjects in which maximum marks are scored.
  • ICSE candidates shall have following options
  • Out of 6 subjects comprising of 4 subjects from Group 1 and 2 subjects from Group 2, best of 5 subject's marks shall be considered for Admission / Merit.
  • All 7 subject's marks shall be considered for Admission / Merit in case of seeking benefit of marks of subjects from Group 3.
  • For CBSE Candidates :- if the marks are given in the form of Grade points then equivalents % of marks shall be calculated as follows
  • The CGPA is the average of Grade Points obtained in all the subjects excluding additional 6th subject as per Scheme of Studies.
  • Subject wise indicative percentage of marks = 9.5 x GP of the Subject.
  • Overall indicative percentage of marks = 9.5 x CGPA
  • ICSE and CBSE Candidates are required to provide equivalent marks authorized from the concerned Institute / Board in case of marks given in Grades.
  • Candidates passing SSC Examination from Maharashtra Board having included marks for Sports etc. in Grand Total mentioned in the mark sheet shall be considered.
  • Any Amendments / Acts / Judgments which may be published by Government / Hon. Courts of India from time to time will be applicable to Candidates and Institutes covered under these rules of admission.

Admission Process

DTE – CAP Admission Process (FY & DSY)

  • Visit: DTE Site
  • Notification: Check Admission Notification Released,  Admission notification is published as per DTE guidelines.
  • Verify Eligibility Criteria: Ensure you meet the required eligibility conditions.
  • Registration:Fill Online Registration Form
  • Documents: Upload required documents and pay the application fee.
  • Verification: Verification is done either at Facilitation Center (FC) or through e-verification(E-Scrutiny).
  • Provisional merit list: Check Provisional merit list when published.
  • Grievances: Submit grievances if any within the stipulated period.
  • Final Merit List:  Final merit list is displayed after resolving grievances.
  • Seat Matrix: Check Available seats across institutes are declared.
  • Choice Filling / Option Entry: fill and lock college and branch preferences.
  • CAP Round 1 Allotment: Seat allotment based on merit and preferences.
  • Betterment Option: (if Not Seat Freezed)  Choose betterment if not satisfied with allotted seat (instead of freezing).
  • CAP Round 2 / 3 / 4:  Participate in further rounds for better options (if applicable).
  • Final Admission Confirmation: Confirm admission by accepting the allotted seat.
  • Commencement of Classes: Academic session begins.
  • Book ID Card Slot: Go to Somaiya myaccount portal, Schedule and obtain your ID card and get the same
  • Be Updated: Visit regularly to KJSP website and be updated with educational activities

Important Notes:

  • CAP Round 1: First preference → Auto freeze
  • CAP Round 2: First 3 preferences → Auto freeze
  • CAP Round 3: First 6 preferences → Auto freeze
  • CAP Round 4: Any preference

Institute Level Admission Process (Unaided Section)

  • Visit: DTE Site
  • Notification : Check Admission Notification Released,  Admission notification is published as per DTE guidelines.
  • Verify Eligibility Criteria: Ensure you meet the required eligibility conditions.
  • Registration:Fill Online Registration Form
  • Documents: Upload required documents and pay the application fee.
  • Verification: Verification is done either at Facilitation Center (FC) or through e-verification(E-Scrutiny).
  • Check Admission Notification: Visit the official website and read the admission notification carefully.
  • Fill Online Admission Form (Somaiya Portal) Complete the application form on the Somaiya admission portal.
  • Upload Required Documents (Somaiya Portal): Upload all necessary documents as per instructions.
  • Submit: Submit the form and keep a copy of the acknowledgement.
  • Check Provisional Merit List (Somaiya Portal): View the provisional merit list published by the institute.
  • Grievance (If Any) (Somaiya Portal): Submit grievances within the given time if required.
  • Final Merit List: Check the final merit list after grievance resolution.
  • Document Verification (KJSP  Office): Visit the institute with original documents for verification.
  • Admission Fees (KJSP  Office): Complete the fee payment process.
  • Receive Login Credentials: Get Somaiya Email ID and SVV NetID credentials.
  • Check Website for Updates / Rounds if needed: Stay updated for further admission rounds or instructions.
  • Vacancy Rounds (If Seats Remain): Participate in vacancy rounds if needed.
  • Final Admission Confirmation: Confirm your admission.
  • Commencement of Classes: Academic session begins.
  • Book ID Card Slot: Go to Somaiya myaccount portal, Schedule and obtain your ID card and get the same
  • Be Updated: Visit regularly to KJSP website and be updated with educational activities

Important Instructions

  1. The seats will be filled as per DTE norms
  2. There will be a separate merit list for Institute level candidates.
  3. Admission will be considered final only if the candidate verifies all the original documents as per the DTE norms.
