About Department

About Department

Industrial Electronics is established in 1994 under World Bank project and later it was taken care as Grant in private institute. The department is having 30 in take for full time diploma. In 2001, department got AICTE approval for 30 intake of part time diploma.

Department had taken care about all field in Electronics viz. analog and digital electronics, computer hardware and software, Instrumentation and control, communication, management and allied courses in its curriculum, so that students will get more job opportunities.

Department is having highly qualified faculty. Every faculty in the department is post graduate and two out of them are Doctorate.

Vision and Mission

Vision of Department:

Industrial Electronics department will provide technicians having knowledge of electronics and allied area.

Mission of Department:

  • Develop and motivate students by providing skills suitable for analyzing Electronic circuits, computer hardware , components and make them adaptable to Industry.
  • Motivate faculty for continuous upgradation through training and interaction with Industry and academia.
  • Develop teamwork, leadership quality and ethical behavior among students.
  •  Prepare student towards advanced electronics courses.
  •  Use of ICT/Google Classroom in teaching & learning throughout the program.

Department Achievements

  • Department had got excellent grade in MSBTE external academic monitoring.
  • Department had mentored computer engineering department from beginning.
  • In 2011, department teachers had delivered lectures to Indian Navy.
  • Presently department is having excellent grade in MSBTE external monitoring.
  • Department had got three year equivalence(2018-21) from MSBTE for academic autonomy.

Faculty Achievements

  • Two faculties from department are Ph.D. 
  • Dr. N. D. Chavan got Somaiya Vidhyavihar award for best outstanding faculty. He had also got prize for paper presented in National Conformance at Satyabhama University, Chennai.
  • Dr. S. G. Kolte is reviewer of journals in computer engineering. 

Students Achievements

  • Department student Bro. Utsav Panchal got 3rd prize in ISTE poster & Quiz completion held on 22nd March 2019 at St. Xavier Technical Institute, Mahim.
  • Only Industrial Electronics department project was selected for State level project competition held at our Institute on 28th Feb 2018.
  • Department students got admission in VJTI.
  • Department students got rare opportunity to visit BARC on 1st March 2019.
